Flawless Festival

Endowed with many a mind-blasting artist and arguably not a single sucky one, Rock Mot Rus 2012 proved to be the year’s best concert so far. Established back in 1983, the Rock Mot Rus Festival is one of the oldest Northern-Norwegian Festivals and is renowned for attracting hordes of youth from all over the country to the tiny village of [...]

Triumphal Celebration

Closing an already great festival day, SATYRICON demonstrated again why they have come to be Norway’s most popular Metal act. Rock Mot Rus festival had been going on for two days and one after the other; the bands have been taking over the stage, building up an overhanging atmosphere of enthusiasm and communion. It was now the turn of SATYRICON [...]

Stadium Rockers!

The scope of the Døgnvill concert was way beyond any previous event VIOLET ROAD ever took part in, and yet, they managed to survive it unscathed. The first impression one got when entering the Skarphallen is one of sheer gigantism. Even those with experiences of Tromsø’s hugest scenes like the Valhall stadium or the Mack Hall were certainly not prepared [...]

VENI, VEDI, VICI!

A Successful Surprise

The amazing gig of Simple Minds has raised bar for the bands that will follow on Døgnvil Vinter.   Most associate Simple Minds with the Breakfast Club’s theme song Don’t You (Forget About Me). Taking into account that the movie is right from the middle of the eighties, just like most of the band’s hits, the concert didn’t actually bid [...]

Dagny: Neither hot, nor cold

One of Tromsø’s  favorite sweetheart-singers flew all the way from Oslo to give a concert at Døgnvill. Dagny, born and (musically) raised in Tromsø, paid a visit to Døgnvil Vinter and delivered a decent concert at Skarpehalen’s Stage 2. She was clearly moved by the warm welcome by the Tromsøan audience warmed up by the Eggum/Sivertsen duo. It could have [...]
